Access and disabilities statement, what you can expect

Access For All

The Albert Hall Conference Centre welcomes all customers and we aim to provide the highest possible standards of service to all. We are happy to show anyone around who would like to come and see the facility, to resolve any potential issues or concerns they may have in advance of their visit.

CredAbility

The Albert Hall Conference Centre is an accredited facility and has been verified as being an accessible venue for disabled people by CredAbility – an independent quality mark run by disabled people.

Access

We aim to provide the highest possible standards of service to all of our customers and we hope that your visit to us will be an enjoyable one. Facilities available at the Albert Hall Conference Centre for customers and visitors with disability needs are as follows:

Accessible Entrance The accessible entrance is located directly off the Maid Marian Way, adjacent to Wren Sterling office and Central Police Station. Access is via a small ramp leading to a level entrance, signposted as Entrance 4 above the door.

An intercom is positioned outside the door, where visitors can request assistance. Once alerted, a member of our team will open the door and provide support if required.

A drop-off area is available at this entrance; however, vehicles must be parked at the front of the building on North Circus Street, where free street parking spaces are available for blue badge holders, which is managed by Nottingham City Council. Main Entrance The main entrance is located on North Circus Street (one-way), opposite St Barnabas Cathedral and adjacent to Nottingham Playhouse. Entry is through large dark wooden double doors, marked as Entrance 1 or Entrance 2. A wide stone and marble staircase (13 steps) leads down to the ground-floor reception area.

Facilities

  • All ground-floor facilities have flat access and wide doorways.
  • The main auditorium (The Great Hall) is located on the first floor and can be accessed via a lift near the accessible entrance.

For performances, a designated accessible seating area is available near the first-floor lift access, located on the upper tier of the auditorium. This space accommodates up to six wheelchair users and carers, with additional nearby seating for those with mobility difficulties.

Toilets

  • An accessible toilet is available in the ground-floor lift lobby, featuring grab rails, a sink, and an emergency pull cord linked to the Albert Hall staff alert system.
  • Main toilets are situated in the reception area, next to the main entrance.

Additional Support

  • An accessible taxi service is available through Central Cars—reception staff can assist with booking.
